Prairie Council on Aging provides the Caregiver Resource center to assist people who serve as caregivers. WHO ARE CAREGIVERS? Caregivers are family members, neighbors, friends, seniors and grandparents or other older adults raising grandchildren. YOU ARE NOT ALONE! One in four households is involved in caring for an older adult. The senior may live in your home, across town or in another state. In Illinois, 200,000 children are being raised in grandparent-headed homes. ASK FOR HELP. Without support, caregivers can "burn out" and become unable to provide care.
